I just sent the following comment to Greg that I thought I should share with you:
Hi Greg, Great to see you helping Nicole with some common sense advice based on tried and true values -honesty, humility, hard work, persistence, and patience. Regarding patience, I once shared a prayer with a young man and had him repeat it with me as follows:
Me: Lord grant me patience.
Young Man: God grant me patience.
Me: :-) Right Now!!!
The Young Man saw the irony :--) !!!!
All the Best, Wayne
enthusiasm often have won out over experience in my book many times, so don't give up...you just never know. Last year, I went up against several major advertising agencies pitching an account for their business, for this "new thing" called Social Networking...while the agencies had me beat with sheer number of personnel (bodies), they lost out on knowledge, and execution of what Social Networking is, and you best to implement it into a marketing campaign. I still believe that a big part of any campaign whether using Social Media or not-must be compassionate and understanding of exactly who your target audience is. Today's music industry continues to shoot itself in the foot daily, by not understanding who their primary customer is, and how they use their products (CDs, music, downloads). Until they wake up and admit they've severely misjudged their market and consumers- they'll continue to fail and lose money. (btw- I worked for Warner Bros. Records for 17 years, and as much as I hate to say it, CDs as we know it are D-E-A-D, and record stores as we KNEW them, are about to become extinct too...but that's another issue...;-)...just like in sports-if you want to excell and be the best- you have to be on top of your game, and work at it EVERYDAY. Consider your options, survey the job market and see where either you fit in, OR better yet, where there's a HOLE in the market that isn't being served. For me, it's always been about relationships (which is a BIG part of Social Networking) and building (and earning) trust. It doesn't come easy...it takes time..but you have to be willing to do whatever it takes ...to reach your end goal....it's well worth it in the long run...best of luck...g
To Your Success,
Chris Patterson
