The originator of "Facebook Business tools" has other websites which are kind of pyramid schems. ;) Also most of the deep links on FaveBookbusinessTools website wraps itself with URL www.facebookbusinesstools.com but shows the Wikipedia page. You definitely have great observation of those negative aspect and quick to assert it. Kind of scary for social visitors. Also there is big no-no from Google as well as other internet search engine for such dark practices.
to hide or to wrap url and display another page.
Anyway, apart from that group and website, as such Facebook as a social platform could be used for brand evangalism as well as product/deals/coupons etc marketing as well as advertising. Also together with Twitter, Facebook can be pushed in very interesting direction.
I agree with you about keeping up with all the new development on web 2.0 and emerging trends in social engineering technologies and its impact on the way humans interact online. :D) But at the end when dust settles down I envision more inter-connected group with special inner circles with outer boundaries of communication and online trust interaction. Plus great networking and more access to local details at global level. Making all of us smarter and in process letting away lots of privacy and individual personas. :D)
Welcome to Snellville, Georgia. After reading your message I too got couple of chuckles.
I would also share any interesting information about Facebook as well as twitter and other platforms from business point of view with you.
BTW. if you are interested in SEO and SEM, there is a small group here "SEO, Website Analysis and Analytics" which would grow eventually, you may like to join
Enjoy,,,
Do you know, thats the first time I have ever articulated that. Many thanks for making me really think about that one. You said that your customers were small. In my experience it's the small to medium size business's that are the most exciting and dynamic. I always liked working with them as you could really work well together and create something really meaningful. I would be interested in hereing more about your experiences.
Take care
Thanks for the congrats.
Looking from different angle though to use Facebook as platform to launch social marketing campaign as well as branding efforts would be an excellent idea.
Thanks,
Social media is becoming a bit of a passion of mine. I am interested to see how it develops and what marketers can bring to the party. I am a classically trained marketer myself who became rather disallushioned with what it was becoming. I think that social media will force marketing to return to people and there stories and that is exciting .
Hope to catch up soon. Back to my reading lamp and red pen for a few hours. :)Take care
