What advice to clients do you give when they are Starting to think about getting their company into Social media?

What should you do first?:
Listen. Listen by reading blogs, and search for conversations.

But where, where should I listen in at?
What I did was start at Google alerts. Go to: http://www.google.com/alerts
And enter the topics that you would like to listen in to. Over time your e-mail box will fill-up, so I created a new account at google just for my listening.

I typed-in energy efficiency.

I have lots of inteesting information - about what we are doing with our web presence, where we evolved to, how we drink our own champagne and what comes next.
