- About Me:
- A recent graduate of UC Berkeley’s Peace and Conflict Studies department, Charlotte spent the past several years studying student activism in the U.S. In particular, she examined the issue of ending genocide and mass atrocities in Darfur, Burma, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the process, she served both locally and nationally with STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition, facilitating the creation and maintenance of youth activist networks across the country.
During her final year at UC Berkeley, Charlotte also served as an Americorps Student Scholar for the Berkeley Engaged Scholarship Initiative, facilitating the creation of the Peace and Conflict Studies department's first-ever service learning course.
Charlotte currently co-manages an internet-based start-up, Charlotte's Web Strategies, providing social networking and media management for non-profit organizations and socially minded businesses. She has developed and maintained the online social identities of multiple organizations and companies, including Nourish America and A Better LA.
Outside of work, Charlotte volunteers locally with Slow Food Berkeley, continues to stay active in the anti-genocide community as a 2010 Carl Wilkens Fellow, and is a regular contributor to Change.org's Poverty in America blog.
